This serves the purpose of returning current to the battery or as a negative terminal. Many horns use the mounting brack to the ground to the vehicle. You may also find that the plug may be loose or disconnected from the socket, as shown in the following picture. If the horn works, but you are not getting power to the horn itself, check the wire harness. Often you will see that the plug itself is corroded. If you don't get any power at this point, check the horn wire harness. You should get 11 to 14 volts when the horn is pressed.
